Coming off an outstanding 12″ release on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, the mysterious artist known as VernoN returns with a 3-track EP that ranges from slamming acid and bass heavy techno to a thick house jam with a dizzying jazz influence. Available by the end of March, but you can pre-order today.
Recently recorded a new mix for our friends at Peloton Musique. Some great tunes on this one. Enjoy!
Here are two very nice best of 2012 mixes featured on Made Like A Tree. One for the mind and one for the body. The latter mixed by Night Gallery’s very own Kuri Kondrak.
Happy new year everyone!!
NG004 explores a path that displays Alex’s intense and thoughtful approach to music. The title track makes reference to the Aboriginal practice of consuming grubs as well as their Totemic spiritual creationism concept; its slower tempo is rooted with a syrupy G-funk bass line and staccato drum programming yet lifted by jazzy, ethereal melody interplay. Don’t be scared, go ahead and try these Witchetty Dreams.
I recently recorded this mix for Made Like A Tree’s 3 year anniversary. Almost two hours of new and old favorites with a few Night Gallery tracks from LOWLOW and Dijkhuis as well.
We know we’re a little late posting this best of 2011 mix we recorded for Made Like A Tree, but here it is if you missed it. Plus a juicy tell-all interview with Night Gallery. Be sure to check out all the great mixes on the MLAT site.
LOWLOW is a source of the unexpected: robotic and dark dub disco meets leftfield Chicago house and Detroit techno. His sound is brought to life using this heritage and its ancient techniques. Taking his name as inspiration, the Low Tide EP focuses strongly on 4 unique interpretations of the word “low.”
For its 2nd release Night Gallery presents the second and final 12” in the two-part
series from Dijkhuis, an established artist still letting his music speak for itself. The 3-
tracks on Dijkhuis #2 continue the same diversity that marked #1.
